Project Objectives:
The goal of this project is to establish a “virtual law firm” to assist on legal, policy, and ethical issues that may arise in each of the programmatic efforts within PACER. The team will review PACER projects, and develop policy and legal analyses concerning issues related to the constitutionality of proposed actions, federalism, and the balancing of public health needs with individuals’ autonomy. The team will also analyze the legal authority needed to respond to high consequence events.
Project Summary & Planned Activities:
This project proposes to establish lines of communication using directed correspondences with others at PACER to begin identifying and responding to legal and policy issues as they arise.
Additional deliverables may include: presentation of specific legal topics at domain specific meetings, written analyses of legal issues, and/or scholarly examinations of emerging legal topics. Delivery timelines will be based on the scope of each project, and will be negotiated with project leaders.
