Project A1: Medical Response Toolkit

Dr. Melissa McCarthy is trained in health services research, with a particular area of expertise in outcomes measurement. She will use her background in instrument development and survey methodology to conceptualize a framework of risk readiness, define the relevant risk domains, determine how best to measure the different dimensions of risk, and then construct a risk readiness tool.

In addition to expertise in instrument development, Dr. McCarthy has strong epidemiologic and statistical skills which will be used to evaluate the psychometric properties (i.e. reliability and validity) of the risk readiness tool that is developed.

Finally, Dr. McCarthy will draw upon her past experiences with large, multi-center studies to lead a multidisciplinary team of experts for this project, and will provide the necessary leadership to coordinate the development of a Risk Ready Tool Kit.
