Project D5: Preparedness & Response Metrics

Chris Latimer, B.A.Mr. Chris Latimer is the Program Manager for Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD)/ Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration (JCTD) work at the Johns Hopkins University / Applied Physics Laboratory. This responsibility includes the oversight of all military utility assessment activity related to ACTD and JCTD projects at APL. ACTD/JCTD are intended to assess the military utility and system integrity of new systems and capabilities to prior to the decision to acquire those systems. Much of that work involves quantitative measurements of system performance relative to mission needs, standards, goals or other performance metrics.

JHU-APL is a not-for-profit center for Engineering and Research and Development, and is the largest division of the Johns Hopkins University. There are more than 4000 professional staff at JHU-APL who work on more than 400 programs that protect our homeland and advance the nation's vision in space science, at an annual funding level of about $680M. As the Principal Investigator of the Preparedness Metrics project, Mr. Latimer has the ability to reach out across JHU-APL to a wide range of national leaders in specific technologies or operational communities for their expert contributions to the project.
