Gabor D. Kelen, M.D., is the current and founding director of
PACER. He was also the primary investigator on the Medical Surge
Capacity Metrics project and on the Creation of a Society for
Disaster Health project.
His other research interests include: HIV epidemiology, testing
and risk to health care provider; health care services; and
Dr. Kelen is also director of The Johns Hopkins Office of
Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), which is
responsible for a coordinated response to disasters and other
critical events across the Johns Hopkins Enterprise.
He is also professor and director of the Johns Hopkins
Department of Emergency Medicine.
